CLIQUES AND WHATS INTERESTING TO READ IN MAGAZINES

I find it enjoyable to read about the trend-setters who are genuine and actually express their identity through self-image. But I want to read about my generation. I want to capture different cliques, focus on their styles and to write about why they chose to be like they are.

The editorial Magazine designs will help me visualize my own designs and understand how compositions are more engaging.  These designs have inspired me to create layouts that have colour- combining opposite colours and have a graphical but modern style.
The 'Indie Magazines' are all about the social media- what is going on in the heads of students, what is trending, what style is emerging and what's the most popular style. These magazines
all have a visual theme of minimalist, bold font and heavy paper-stock.

The 'high-end' magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Miss Vogue, Porter are all about the expensive brands, the weird-looking but identical models and the constant pages of the same photography. The only section of these magazines that interest me are the contexts of real-life people, who talk about their style. Not only their style but what they do as a living and what inspires them.

Indie magazines are as well fun to explore in, they're photography is different almost quirky as if they are specifically communicating to my generation. The layouts are casual almost as if they want the readers to look at the whole page instead of just the photo- this is why I want my layouts to be as effective as the photographs.
